Services I Provide 

I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for a variety of issues, including anxiety (obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic, phobias, shyness and social anxiety), child and adult ADD/ADHD, depression, bipolar illness, parenting issues, and coping with chronic and/or life-threatening medical illness.

I provide a variety of Coaching services for children, teens, and adults.  I work with my clients to clarify goals and values, prioritize, work towards meaningful goals, decrease stress, and improve organization and time management.

I provide a variety of education and consultation services to professionals, organizations, schools, and parenting groups, as well as bullying prevention consultation and training to schools.  I am currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the psychiatry department of the Univeristy of California, San Francisco Medical School. 

What I Do

I provide personalized therapy and coaching based on scientifically proven treatment methods.  I focus on developing effective coping skills, healthier habits, and new tools for future use.  My goal is to reduce fear, anxiety, depression, and other coping problems, and to increase confidence, improve relationships, and create lasting change.

As a certified Olweus Bully Prevention Program trainer.  I provide training and consultation to schools who are ready to take the step of doing something real and positive to stop bullying.

I also give educational talks to a variety of groups and organizations on various topics, including parenting, anxiety, and bullying.  As an Assistant Clinical Professor in the psychiatry department at UCSF, I provide teaching and supervision to the Child Psychiatry residents.

 What's New?

January 22, 2008: I gave two talks, "Parenting for the 21st Century" and "Bullying: Facts, Fictions, Fixes" at Wade Thomas Elementary School in San Anselmo, CA. 

May 14, 2007: I gave a talk on Hoarding to the Marin County chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)  (NAMI Marin ). The room was packed, and we all had a great evening.

Channel 2 (KTVU) 5 O'Clock news interviewed me for a story on hoarding.

May 11, 2007: The Marin Independant Journal published an exellent article on hoarding.  The IJ interviewed me about what hoarding is, and what can be done about it.

May 1, 2007: I spent the day training  a school district in northern California on the Olweus Bully Prevention Program.  The school staff were very open to recognizing the bullying going on in their schools, and eager to find solutions that work.  Read more about bullying .

April 27, 2007:  I gave a talk on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) at the Marin General Pediatrics Grand Rounds.
